Sarah Lathrop
I grew up in Virginia, somewhere between the horse farms and the vibrations of D.C.. My mother is a high school teacher and is ever-patient. My father used to read Aristotle or Conan The Barbarian to me before I went to sleep.
The seeds of my artistic abilities were discovered at Notre Dame, where I received a BFA in photography. Since then, I have worked at Sculpture Space's International Artists' Residency Program, in Utica, NY, studied at RIT in Rochester, NY, and am in the process of completing an interdisciplinary MFA degree in Media Arts at Southern Illinois University, amidst an expanse of mid-west skyline and the Shawnee National forest. My current research and artistic projects explore reality, language, gender and the space in which we construct all three.
